The bank needed a solution to provide timely and secure access to OLTP transaction data for its customers. Key requirements included database integration for real-time ETL/ELT processes, scalability to handle big data volumes, minimal impact on existing infrastructure, comprehensive data authorization and security, and technology-agnostic capabilities.
Sprinterra crafted a solution centered around fault tolerance and connectivity, ensuring each component was designed with robustness in mind. This approach included utilizing tools with native support or adding intermediate layers to achieve fault tolerance. For database integration and optimization, the bank’s existing RDBMS was leveraged, and through integration with Snowflake, the team enhanced data warehousing performance, thereby improving scalability and query efficiency. The security of data access and transfer within the bank’s network was fortified by employing NAT and VPN for non-cloud components, in addition to implementing strict authentication and authorization protocols. To safeguard user data, distinct tables/groups were created to segregate user information, minimizing risk and ensuring privacy, with continuous review and audit processes established to maintain ongoing solution integrity. The implementation of advanced ETL/ELT mechanisms allowed for real-time data processing, meeting the bank’s requirement for fast and accurate data availability without negatively impacting system performance or security.
